Transitioning from Military to Corporate Life
Thursday, November 16, 2017
Doubletree by Hilton Campbell Center

President's Message

We had a great crowd at our October meeting, which I think served double duty as both an observation of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month and a fright fest in advance of Halloween, as a U.S. Secret Service agent regaled us with frightening tales of the increasingly savvy hackers and fraudsters!

At our November meeting—in addition to approving the 2018 DAFP budget that was shared at the October meeting—we’ll have a chance to hear from representatives of all four branches of the U.S. military who have transitioned from military life to the corporate world. We look forward to seeing you there!

As we head into the holiday season and toward the end the year, your DAFP board will not be idle. We will be working on a “proof of concept” for a corporate membership, as well as exploring other potential opportunities for our group. We’ll be making plans for the holiday social and for our annual retreat in January, where we will dig into strategic planning for 2018 and beyond. If you have ideas about things you’d like DAFP to do in the year ahead and beyond, please talk with me or one of the other board members.

And finally, don’t forget to renew your DAFP membership for 2018!

Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends!

Financially yours,
- Matt D.

November Monthly Meeting

In honor of Veteran's Day, we are hosting a panel of veterans consisting of United States Army, Marines, Air Force and Navy, who have transitioned to corporate careers. Hear their stories about their service, the process of re-entry, as well as the challenges. We will discuss how corporations benefit from the skills taught in the military. Registration is now open!

We look forward to seeing everyone.
