In honor of Veteran's Day, we are hosting a panel of veterans consisting of United States Army, Marines, Air Force and Navy, who have transitioned to corporate careers. Hear their stories about their service, the process of re-entry, as well as the challenges. We will discuss how corporations benefit from the skills taught in the military. Registration opens November 1, 2017

Corporate Benefits of Military Hiring 


"Corporate Benefits of Military Hiring", a panel discussion with 4 esteemed military veterans now working in corporate sector.  The panel will be moderated by Bryan Zawikowski, VP of Lucas Group.  Hear about experiences transitioning from military to corporate life; challenges, obstacles, and successes.  We will identify benefits for corporations when hiring veterans.  Many of the skills learned through military training are well suited for the corporate sector.



In honor of Veterans Day, please join Dallas AFP on Thursday, 11/16/2017 for  a panel of veterans discussing their transition from military to corporate life and how the company has benefited from their military training. Bryan J Zawikowski,

A self-proclaimed lifelong student of the recruiting profession, Bryan, Vice President and General Manager, Military Division for Lucas Group, lives and leads under the steadfast credence that there are no shortcuts to success.  A graduate of the US Air Force Academy, Bryan's expertise is a direct result of his own military experience, his enthusiastic hard-work, and his relentless commitment to understanding and fulfilling the needs of his candidates and his clients. Bryan joined Lucas Group in 1994, he holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the U.S. Air Force Academy top 15% of his class and selected as an All American Collegiate Boxer in 1989.  In 1992, he earned a Masters in Aeronautical Sciences with an emphasis on Business from Embry-Riddle University.

Eddie Commender, US Army


A former US Army Infantry Officer, Eddie Commender lives and leads by the guiding principle that you help your fellow soldier.    Eddie is a Senior Partner in Lucas Group's Military Transition Division.   Eddie assists Junior Military Officers from the US Army and Marine Corp to confidently manage their transitions from the Military into promising and rewarding civilian careers.   A Crossfit contestant and lifeling Judo student, Eddie holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Stephen F. Austin State University and is a former US Army Infantry Officer.  Eddie is married and has 2 young children.



Brandy Baxter,  US Air Force

Brandy is the Boots to  Heels Program Director at Attitudes and Attire where she facilitates a workshop series on self-esteem,  interviewing skils and transition tools for women  veterans and female  military spouses.  She is a veteran of the United States Air Force, mother of two beautiful daughters and happily married to an Air Force veteran. 

She has a B.A. in Communication, a M.S. in Management, is an accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) and a Certified Executive Coach.   Outside of family time, her interests include reading, shopping and watching Sunday Night football. 


Nathan Rylander, US Marine

Nathan is a commercial real estate broker with Transwestern Commercial Real Estate Services.  Nathan has served over 8 years as an active duty U.S. Marine Corps artillery  officer.  He is still serving in the Marine Reserve, currently  is Fire Support Coordinator for 14th Marine Regiment and has over 19 years combined, active and reserve service.  He received his Mechanical Engineering degree from Letourneau University. Nathan is married with 2 daughters and is active in his community serving as an ambassador for the Plano Chamber of Commerce, a member of Parkway Hills Baptist Church, and a youth volleyball coach. 


Clif Colbert, US Navy

Cliff is a Banker Associate who sits second chair on portfolio clients and is a recent addition to JPMorgan Chase team.  Clif began his career through the Military officer Executive development Program following seven years active duty in the US Navy and his  graduation from the United States Naval Academy in 2009.  Clif has an MS in Manufacturing Engineering from SMU.
