With the London Interbank Offered Rate (“LIBOR”) not guaranteed to be sustained after 2021, this presentation highlights:

  • The history and drawbacks of LIBOR, including why LIBOR has become unsustainable as a benchmark rate
  • An overview of the Secured Overnight Funding Rate, or SOFR, as the proposed alternative benchmark
  • What banks can (and should) be doing now to prepare for a transition away from LIBOR, with a focus on LIBOR fallback provisions in loan documents

Bio Summary


Sierra Quinonez is a shareholder in the Fort Worth office of Winstead PC.  As a member of the firm’s Finance and Banking practice group, she represents both lending institutions and borrowing entities in a wide variety of complex commercial lending transactions, including middle market and asset-based financings, single bank and syndicated financings, real estate loans, acquisition financings, aircraft financings, and subscription lines of credit. Her experience includes documentation and negotiation of loan originations as well as the workout and restructuring of troubled loans.
