Since joining Hunt Oil in 1993, Cope has been promoted through the ranks, even working as Hunt’s primary liaison with the government of Yemen on financial and accounting matters.  He is now responsible for the worldwide accounting of the Hunt family of companies.  With the energy industry riding a wave of ups and downs during the past few years, he has had to take on a new role of managing people through change.  As Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer at Hunt Consolidated, he explains that his job is not just about the numbers—it is also about navigating the suddenly choppy waters in the energy market and encouraging his team to prevent them from becoming overwhelmed or burned out early in a down cycle. His management style allows for adaptability during rapid growth as well as a slowdown in activity.

Cope was named one of Dallas-Fort Worth’s top finance professionals by D CEO’s 2016 Financial Executives Awards for Outstanding CAO, Controller, Private Company.
